Semi Hardwired Warehouse Application

Warehouse Application

Blu2light was specified to be installed into an Logistic Warehouse.

The Scope of work for the warehouse was clear: the lighting system should remain off when spaces are unoccupied, and in areas where natural light is present, the luminaires should adjust their output to maintain the appropriate LUX levels. Given the warehouse's ample natural light through polycarbonate Roof sheets, daylight harvesting is enabled to ensure optimal efficiency.

The Lina APP was provided to the client, granting them control over various sections within the warehouse. A specialized "STOCK TAKE" scene was offered to facilitate stock counting by staff, eliminating concerns about the lighting turning off. This stock take scene establishes lighting at a predetermined level and will remain active for a duration determined by the client's preferences.

Le Grand Café Rouge in Barcelona

Blu2Light in dining

Blu2Light Installation

Le Grand Café Rouge is a modern French brasserie designed by the renowned French architect Odile Decq and directed by Michelin-starred chef Romain Fornell and located in the luxurious Antares building in Barcelona. Its architecture, blend of traditional and contemporary atmosphere and innovative design create a distinctive and authentic personality.  This, together with the cuisine typical of this restaurant concept, defines the special character and philosophy of the place.

These same concepts and perspectives are the ones that Geometría Viva, SL y Salvador Gómez Fuentes have used for the manufacture and design of the restaurant's luminaire.

The venue's lighting consists of a total of 25 pendant luminaires including linear LEDs, spotlights and bulbs that dim to suit the mood required at any given time and occasion. The luminaire is controlled by Vossloh-Schwabe's Blu2Light control system, allowing scenes to be selected from the iPad installed in the restaurant kitchen. With this innovative system, based on Bluetooth technology, and the LINA Touch app, the desired ambience is created for each occasion, allowing different lighting scenes to be set.

Lighting management in the office and hotel tower ONE by CA Immo in Frankfurt

"ONE is a brave commitment to the diversity of workplaces and the mix in everyday life.“
Prof. Dipl.-Ing. Thomas J. Meurer Architect

ONE Tower – All under one roof

The ONE is an office complex in the middle of the Main metropolis Frankfurt. With its various floors and areas, it is more than just a place to work, but much more a building to spend the day in In addition to office spaces and coworking spaces, the 49 floors above ground also include a sky bar, a restaurant and a hotel. The so-called mix of uses offers the building's office tenants in particular a variety of informal communication venues, as well as considerable flexibility, above all thanks to the integrated coworking offer of the company "Spaces" and the conference rooms of the "nhow" hotel.

The installation

Sensors from Vossloh-Schwabe are installed in the building, which are responsible for controlling the lighting and the communication of various devices. For example, sensors record the occupancy of premises, which allows vacant rooms to be displayed on a web interface. This data can be transferred to a booking system for mobile workstations, providing a modern and interactive work culture.

Light management in the hospital of Sant Joan Despí

Illumination and light management in the intensive care unit

 Stand-out features of the installation
  • Easy control by using an iPAD
  • Automatic sequence of the light colours adapted to the times of day for better well-being
  • Sustainable and energy-saving LEDs
  • Highly efficient system
One of the most important objectives for the floors in the intensive care unit was to implement a control system that could parameterise the lighting by sector. Two very important points were to be taken into account: patient comfort on the one hand, and the use and functionality required by the healthcare staff on the other.

Why Blu2Light as control system in the intensive care unit
The healthcare team should be able to interact with the control system in a simple and intuitive way. This was achieved by using the LiNA Touch app, as staff can easily control the lighting in the rooms with an iPad, e.g. by increasing the light intensity in an emergency. The available settings are defined beforehand in the configuration, so that nothing stands in the way of easy operation.

Another point is that the system had to have an excellent cost-benefit ratio, providing the functionality that the engineers required, being a highly efficient system, which Blu2Light fulfils perfectly. Last but not least, the implementation on site and the configuration of the system had to be easy to carry out, trying to reduce the wiring between components as much as possible.

The intensive care unit floors are equipped with various VS sensors, controllers, LED drivers and linear LED modules.

Blu2Light control in the tracatrá restaurant

Always the right lighting scenes

Light control with Blu2Light
The traditional Spanish restaurant tracatrá is located in the heart of Barcelona. Freshly prepared fish and regional tapas with wine invite you to a relaxed dinner in the centre of Barcelona.

A suitable ambience is created with the Blu2Light wireless lighting control system based on Bluetooth wireless technology. Different lighting scenes are configured depending on the event and let the premises appear in a new light again and again.

 Showroom of Regent Lighting Solutions

Several lighting areas – one network

The new showroom of one of the leading lighting manufacturers for architectural and landscape lighting in South Africa was recently upgraded with the light management system Blu2Light. Regent Lighting Solutions (RLS) searched for a system to manage and control their showrooms for colour temperature and lensing as well as for interior lighting in an easy way. The Bluetooth-based system, Blu2Light allows it to be installed in different areas but still work in one network.

Perfect balance between art and technology
Several sensors ensure various lighting scenes, like a welcome scene when presence is detected. Thereafter it is possible to control each luminaire and lighting group via the LiNA Touch App. In this case the app enables interaction with customers by showing how CRI and Kelvin are displayed and compared. Through this on-demand demonstration, a better and immediate understanding is achieved. With the light management system Blu2Light a perfect balance between art and technology is easily possible and simple to apply.

Vossloh-Schwabe Office

A building management system (BMS) with Blu2Light

Blu2Light can be operated as a modular base for completeBuilding Management Systems (BMS) to control an entire building complex using a Bluetooth mesh or wired installation networks.

In the building of Vossloh-Schwabe in South Africa a Building Management System has been specified and installed by our partner companies RDL and WARDEW. This BMS has been developed with the background of the Blu2Light-Technology and has been enhanced to control and record diverse applications, normally to be found in modern buildings. The installation has been designed, installed and monitored for more than a year to gain experience especially in the challenging African environment.

This Blu2Light installation in the VS Africa Building in Midrand was a first of its kind for Vossloh-Schwabe in South Africa. RDL Consulting was hired by VS Africa to ensure that every Blu2Light installation is functioning according to the required specifications. The BMS access and communication is realised with the license free VS-Gateway, connected to a PLC (programmable logic controller), a combination which makes basically everything possible. The following section explains the various functions of the Blu2Light-based BMS and the reasons for the success and of the system.

Control and monitoring of various functions takes place via app. Among other things, lighting situations are controlled and CO2 values, temperature and humidity in various rooms are monitored.

cube berlin, a glimpse of the future

Intelligent building technology in the smart building of the future

The international real estate company, CA Immo, in Germany’s capital city is working to construct an office building, right in front of Berlin’s main station, that is innovative in every way: the cube berlin. Resembling a gigantic sculpture from the outside, the building provides free space for inspiration on the inside.

Blu2Light uses light to communicate
The wireless light control system is based on Bluetooth® and facilitates convenient and simple communication via apps on mobile devices such as a smartphone. Components are interconnected via a mesh network in which the individual sensors serve as both transmitters and receivers. Every luminaire with a Blu2Light component also comes with an integrated beacon function that makes it possible to send and receive messages, as a result of which a tracking function can also be provided.

RDL Consulting Lounge & Office

Intelligent light control via Smart Watch

Blu2light was specified to be used in the new RDL Consulting offices and lounge, as this was not a new installation but a retrofit upgrade, so no DALI wiring was present. The lighting control system has been setup as a hybrid system, where both wired and wireless communication is used.

The outstanding and demanding features and requirements of the installation were presence detection, daylight harvesting, a generator operation and lighting control via Apple Smart Watch.

The system provides energy saving features due to the control of presence and daylight harvesting. Furthermore, the office has a generator for backup power. When the generator is powering the building, only functional lighting is activated, which reduces fuel costs by up to 30%. A special feature is the opportunity to control lighting scenes via an Apple smart watch. This ensures activated meetings and presentation scenes extremely easy and provides an innovative way of light control.

Swanlite Office & Entrance

Intelligent light control with Blu2Light

The Swanlite office’s lighting is controlled via Blu2light. Each office area is controlled via daylight harvesting and motion control. Since this was an existing installation the wireless DALI control system showed its strengths.

From the moment the front door of the company is opened Blu2light steels the show by activating each downlight in the waiting lobby at a time in a sequence. This James Bond effect sets the scene for the rest of the office as this room has tunable white and dark lighting in their boardroom and offices. The Lighting in the office follows a circadian pattern throughout the day, staffs wellbeing priority.

From RGBW lighting in the corridor to controlling traditional lighting via a DALI relay, this office proves that Blu2light is capable of anything!
